Longboard Island Lager

lngbrd_bottle_pour.jpgThis week I decided to look for a summer beer that isn’t main stream or at least not as well known as the other 4 that I have tried. In the micro-brew section of the cooler I found the Longboard Island Lager by the Kona Brewing Company based in Hawaii.

I picked it more or less because I love longboard surfing and longboard skateboarding so I mean I had to get it. I have never heard of this brewery so I didn’t know what to expect. It wasn’t bad at all, it was light, citrusy, and with a smokey after taste that I think is a nice finish. Defiantly great for lighter foods but it matches up pretty darn well with pizza, which I had with it. Very smooth with a little bit of spice to it makes this a great beer to try this summer. Give it a try and let me know what you think.
